A documentary screening of Luis Sanchez Alba’s Diamond Inside during the 5th Singapore Indie Documentary Festival followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker.
Diamond Inside follows a collective of mural artists from Madrid called Boa Mistura, during their trip to Cape Town, South Africa. The camera follows their time living and interacting with the people from Woodstock and Khayelitsha: a slumtown where lives dwell between the high rates of poverty and AIDS.
Boa Mistura represents their own message to the people of Africa, through several murals on different buildings, intending to instill a mindset to get out of the deepest poverty, aiming to “promote change surrounding yourself with images and colors that reflect what you want to achieve”, to future generations.
